Our Goal
We are looking for an experienced Social Media Copywriter who understands that writing for digital platforms is not just about sounding clever.
It’s about understanding people, platforms, trends, search behaviour, brand voice, conversion, storytelling, and how to write copy that feels human while still being strategic.
This role will focus mainly on social media copywriting, including organic captions, Reels hooks, campaign copy, Meta ad copy, Google ad copy, newsletters, website copy, and brand messaging.
The ideal person is creative, current, strategic, and genuinely interested in how people consume content in 2026. They should understand that social media is no longer only a place to post, it is also a search engine, a discovery tool, a sales channel, and a brand-building platform.

Key Responsibilities
Writing social media captions for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and other digital platforms
Writing strong Reels hooks, video text overlays, opening lines and call-to-actions
Writing Meta ad copy for awareness, engagement, traffic, lead generation and conversion campaigns
Writing Google ad copy with a clear understanding of keywords, search intent and click behaviour
Writing newsletter copy for client campaigns, launches, promotions and monthly communication
Writing website copy, landing page copy and campaign page copy where needed
Developing brand voice direction and adapting tone across different clients and industries
Writing copy that supports both organic content and paid media objectives
Understanding how keywords, search intent and platform discoverability influence social media copy
Applying SEO, AEO/AIO and keyword thinking to captions, ads, blogs, websites and social content
Creating caption banks, hook banks, CTA options and messaging angles for client campaigns
Collaborating with strategists, designers, photographers, videographers and account managers
Reviewing content plans and making sure each piece of copy supports the content objective
Writing for multiple industries, audiences and brand personalities
Researching client industries, audience behaviour, competitors, trends and platform language
Staying up to date with social media trends, content formats, ad trends and changes in digital search behaviour
Ensuring all copy is clear, grammatically correct, on-brand and ready for client approval
Taking feedback and applying it quickly and accurately
Helping turn rough content ideas into strong, platform-ready copy
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Copywriting, English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing or a related field; or relevant industry experience
Previous agency experience will be advantageous
Strong portfolio or writing samples showcasing social media captions, ad copy, campaign copy, website copy or newsletters
Must be experienced and confident enough to write for multiple brands and industries
Experience & Skills
Experience in social media copywriting, digital marketing copywriting or agency copywriting
Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and digital campaign formats
Experience writing Meta ad copy
Experience writing Google ad copy or keyword-led copy will be advantageous
Understanding of SEO, AEO/AIO, keywords and search intent will be highly advantageous
Experience writing newsletters and website copy will be advantageous
Ability to use AI tools responsibly for research, ideation and workflow support without losing human tone
Strong proofreading and editing skills
Understanding of content pillars, campaign messaging and brand voice development

Applicants MUST live in or close to Somerset West, as they will need to commute to the office daily!

Be able to simplify complex information into clear, engaging copy
Have excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail
Be able to research quickly and write with confidence
Be able to work across multiple clients at once without losing brand voice
Be logical with solid planning, organising and time management skills
Be able to work under pressure, manage deadlines and handle high volumes of copy
Be able to work independently as well as within a creative team
Be adaptable, receptive to feedback and willing to refine copy until it works
Have a portfolio or examples of previous social media, campaign, ad or website copy
